What a wonderful experience! We were staying at a hotel near the Florence airport and looking for lunch. The man working registration suggested McDonald's I took to Yelp and read about Trattoria Da Burde-what a find!! We had service beyond measure and excellent food. The whole experience was the icing on an already fabulous trip! We decided to eat at the hotel that night, knowing we wouldn't be able to top that last lunch. Eat here. You will be glad!
I'm officially enthused with Burde. I went with a Yelp event organized by an awesome local food blogger (Stefano of fudiblog) and it was a splendid dinner with a saffron theme and wine pairings from Castello Di Trebbio. The restaurant is worth a trek outside Florence's city center. The owner is an ace sommelier and the wine list is super. During the day they have down home cooking and host special dinners like the one I attended from time to time.
